With fun, good mood and many smiles. This is how the children from Miroslava (Iasi County) responded to the initiative of “Alaturi de Voi” Romania Foundation and of its partners, to organize in their town, for five days, a summer camp called “Go Summer!”. The camp is part of the project ”Investing in Inclusive Education!”, an initiative financed by the Norwegian grants 2014-2021, through the local Development Program.
So, between July 19-23, 2021, for four hours a day, the school “Col. Constantin Langa” from Miroslava hosted leisure games, creative and personal development workshops for 40 children, with the summer camp being a good opportunity for them to learn, to discover and have fun. The success of the initiative is mainly due to the volunteers attracted to the project. The connections created between them, organizers and children during their activities have made the five-day camp a wonderful learning experience for all.
“A happy child who discovers the joys of life is a child who has a good education. And we are talking about good education where formal methods meet and harmonize with non-formal and informal methods. That is why, in our project “Investing in Inclusive Education!” we organized the 4 summer camps. Through the activities conducted within the creative and recreational workshops, children learn new things, know, and discover themselves, develop their motive, artistic, social skills in an interactive, cheerful way of learning, play, energy, courage, friendship… And when the 5 magical days are over, the “magic” of these activities will turn the mirror of the soul of each child into windows open to their peers, to knowledge and new experiences, to the world…

Details about the project and about the “Go Summer!” camp in the morning at Radio Romania Iasi – Interview with Diana Vasiliu, Project Manager.
Miroslava is the first community hosting such a camp this summer, with the schools from three other localities from Iasi County (Horlesti, Cornesti and Uricani – the last two, parts of Miroslava commune) receiving guests-children in the next period and involving them in similar activities.
The summer camp is just one of the stages leading up to the establishment of a complex program of integrated services (educational, psycho-socio-pedagogical, occupational, non-formal education and leisure) whereby Alaturi de Voi Foundation intends to boost the school and social participation of 650 children and young people aged between 3 and 18, at risk of school leaving or with special educational needs, from 3 rural communities in Iasi county – Miroslava, Cornesti and Horlesti – and from Botosani municipality.
About the experience of the “Go Summer!” camp with the words of children and parents
I liked very much the camp organized by Alaturi de Voi Foundation. Coordinators and volunteers have made us feel like in a big family with many children. Their concern for us and the fun offered within the work activities/workshops, made us feel like in a real camp. We are sorry that the camp is over, our friends at the ADV are now going to other children, but we hope to see again in the autumn. We love you ADV! We are looking forward for you to come back to us! – V. A., 11 years
The most beautiful camp in which I participated. The fun was at best. I made new friends. We hope you will come to us every day. You are wonderful!!! – C. M. F., 11 YEARS.
My parents cannot take me to the sea or to the mountain. I heard of your camp and said I would come. I am not sorry at all. It’s the best holiday I’ve ever had in my life. I haven’t played and i haven’t had so much fun like that for a long time. I hope you come to us every year. I love you! – M. A. A., 8 YEARS
Children are very pleased. They talk about you at the store – ADV, they talk about the activities conducted in the camp at home. It was very beautiful. I’m glad you’ve brought in younger children too. We are looking forward to seeing you the next year. – PARENT, D.A., 33 YEARS
