PROJECT PRESENTATION:

The project ”Investment in inclusive education”_Cod PN2041 is implemented by the “Alaturi de Voi” Romania Foundation in partnership with Star of Hope Romania Foundation, the Romanian Reading Association and the “Golden  Oaks” Local Action Group Association, within the Call for Proposals “Inclusive education for children and youths at risk”, ”Local Development and Poverty Reduction, Enhanced Roma Inclusion”  programme, financed through the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021 and managed by the Romanian Social Development Fund (FRDS).

The project is implemented during 30.10.2020 – 29.10.2022 in the North-Eastern Region of Romania: in the Iasi County – the Miroslava commune (the communities of Miroslava and Cornesti) and the Horlesti Commune and in the Botosani County – the City of Botosani, the target group for the project being selected from rural and urban areas. The total value of the financing agreement is 5,452,521.16 lei, the non-reimbursable eligible value being 4,907,269.05 lei, and the private contribution 545,252.11 lei.

GOAL:

The project ”Investment in inclusive education” aims at offering an integrated package of educational, social, psychological and occupational services as well as non-formal education and spare time options in view of increasing the degree of social and school involvement of 650 children and youths of ages between 3 and 18 years, at risk of school abandonment / early school drop-out or with special educational requirements from 4 communities from the Iasi and Botosani counties.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:

To increase the degree of school and social involvement of 650 children and youths of ages between 3 and 18 years, at risk of school abandonment / early school drop-out (550) and with special educational requirements (100) from 3 rural communities from the Iasi County (Miroslava, Cornesti and Horlesti) and 1 urban community from the Botosani County (the City of Botosani). 

 

At the same time, the project aims at:

  • Increasing involvement and offering support services to 80 parents of children / youths at risk of school abandonment and to 60 parents of children with special educational requirements;
  • Developing abilities in the educational process for 125 teachers (100 from the 4 learning institutions addressed through the project and 25 from the North-Eastern Region of Romania) in an integrated approach of working with children and youths at risk of early school drop-out and with special educational requirements.

 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

SO1: To increase the participation in preschool, primary and lower secondary education and the degree of accessibility to psycho – social / psycho – pedagogical, occupational and spare time services for 650 children and young people of ages between 3 - 18 years (550 children and youths at risk of school drop – out / early school drop-out and 100 children and young people with special educational needs, of which 500 come from rural areas) from 4 communities from the Iasi and Botosani Counties throughout the 24 months of project implementation. 

SO2: To increase the degree of involvement and offering of support services for 140 parents / care-takers of children and youths at risk of school drop – out / early school drop-out and with special educational needs relevant to facilitating the dialogue between school – family – society throughout the period of project implementation.

SO3: To increase the capacity building and the development of specific abilities in the instructive – educational process for 125 teachers (100 teachers from 4 learning institutions aimed at through the project from the Iasi and Botosani County and 25 teachers from the North-Eastern region) for an integrated approach in working with small children and with youths at risk of early school drop-out and with special educational needs.

The project proposes to develop a sustainable partnership and a model of intervention correlated and addressing the child / the young individual – the family – the school – the community. The model implemented by the 4 NGOs and the 4 associated learning institutions will be proposed at regional / national level through FNGAL.
